It seems that The Last Story sold out its first shipment and is getting another tommorow. I hope the break in availability doesn't mess with the numbers. Of course this doesn't mean it sold isnane numbers, maybe their expectations were modest to begin with, but it's good news anyway that it seems to have surpassed them.

Nice to see Microsoft doing so well on the Xbox front with the Slim model and Kinect.
Sweet. Sentinel is confirmed for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The closer the release date gets the more pumped I get for this game. It's going to be simply Marvel-ous.Conduit 2 delayed until April 19th so they can "polish multiplayer".

Well, a few levels into Lord of the Rings online and I'm quickly warming up to it. So far it has been a fetch quest extravaganza, but somehow the game slowly makes you believe that your journey is closely tied to the events taking place throughout the war of the ring. It's very easy on the eyes as well, and not demanding hardware wise.

A new Kirby Wii game by HAL was shown (not as Yarn, similar to the unreleased GC game)
Just Dance And Goldeneye are being released in Japan by Nintendo.
A new title, Pandora's Tower, is coming out this year.
They have many other unannouced Wii games in development.
3DS
The online shop and browser, plus DSI transfers, will launch in May.
The reason they are only releasing Nintendogs + Cats at launch, is because the software that is equivalent to Wii Sports for the Wii is pre-bundled into the 3DS. They also wanted attention for 3rd parties. Because of this, they have games that were completed even before Nintendogs + Cats yet will be released later.
They've got a lot of software that can be sold this year, but hasn't been announced.

Question: Western third party support for 3DS is weak, isn't it?
Answer: The importance of handhelds is weak overseas which makes it difficult to devote resources towards handheld only games. I believe the importance of handhelds in the West will increase. Will that be enough to sway Western developers? Something incoherent about NGP (huh?) support will show (check the link, I don't get it).

From reading the link you provided I think what he was saying about NGP was that maybe the western developers who have shown support for the NGP will now see the value in playing in the handheld market and consider 3DS as well.
What are those though? I only recall Epic. Not exactly enough to bother mentioning in an investors meeting that they probably planned what to say in way before NGP was even shown. Well, I just hope the software stuff is true. It certainly fits with some of their past statements about Wii, but not knowing of it all sucks.

Incidentally there was a story floating around today about Carmack (id genius programmer, rocketeer) praising the NGP.
I listened to an interview with him a month ago from the Bethesda site. He was asked why Rage was on JUST iPhone and not Android, and he basically said that he prefers to code for platforms that have consistent hardware out of the box (as opposed to Android which has a variable hardware standard). He said id learnt that lesson the hard way back in the 90's having to deal with so many driver and graphic card issues when they produced games.
He's also (obviously) enamoured with hardware power -- so it's easy to see why he'd be drooling about the possibility of the NGP. His tweet seems to be nothing more than an act of genuine interest in the hardware.
Just thought I'd pass that along, since Carmack is always interesting.

Yeah, I agree on software. Do they have any more announced conferences/ meetings coming up? I was hoping this would have been resolved by now.
HOWEVER, if you look at the window between when they announce a game and when they release it they have really tightened that up over the last 2 years (unless it's Mario/Zelda/Metroid). Look at Kirby and DKCReturns as recent examples.
Right, Activision too. But Activision already made stuff for DS anyway so I imagine they will for 3DS too.
And yeah, I know, but not knowing sucks. Beyond what I want myself, it also gives doomsayers more room to claim crap about their platforms. Why not at least flat out say "we have at least ## games to unveil later this year" in interviews etc, without details? There would still be badmouthing for such attidude, but less so. Not giving exact numbers allows room for cancelled or delayed projects too, if that's part of their reasoning...
