You looked in the mirror and saw me?
Crap I have no days off this week, I work and fly on the same day on wednesday. My week off will be well earned.
In Hawaii gasoline prices have hit $4. People are freaking out, saying the US should tap it's strategic petroleum reserve.
Petrol (gasoline) is $5.59 a gallon here in Australia and that's not too much off our "normal" prices -- about $4.80 a gallon.
We are spoiled.
^I think even here is Australia it's nothing compared to like, Europe and the UK. Still, it sucks to drop $100 on a tank of gas rather than beer or games.
Save the SPR for a real emergency. If they want to do anything they should take the gas tax down a few percent for a while, but the SPR should be for major emergencies, not just to release pressure on consumer confidence.
Does anyone know how big Pac-Man CE is on the PS3 (Download wise)?
Yo LEO!
Is 999 like Phoenix Wright or like a click-point adventure type game? That's what it looked like on the back o fthe box.
I'm looking for a very BRAINDEAD game to play right now.
248MB for the demo download. The full game is just a 6K patch.

But Leo, come to Canada! Universal healthcare and legal gay marriage!

Realistically speaking, how close are we from moving away from oil dependence?
On the technological side, there's no miracle technology down the pipe to fix everything. Progress is comprised of modest improvements in efficiency in various methodologies, such as the conversion rate on solar panels, which right now is only in the area of 10%.
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI think the US gets most of it's oil from Canada and then Mexico with about 17% (from memory) from the middle east, so for the US to get off oil from that region is conceivable.
Getting off oil all together? Look at all the cars/trucks we rely on. Except for UPS, USPS and public transit almost all the vehicles we rely on use petroleum. It's not happening.
So no solar powered cars for the masses anytime soon? :'(
Same. But mostly I just can't even sit through a movie even with that.
Not until we run out of oil (ie; never). Electric cars help on the geopolitical scene, but not on the opllution side given that most electrical is still generated from dirty sources.
I want a combination of wind/solar/tidal/nuclear for Australia. We have the space, the coastla currents and the sun for it (and the uranium).
How come we're never going to run out of oil?
I'm just being cynical. I heard a speech last year made by Nixon talking about how we're running out of oil -- that was what 40 years ago? There doesn't appear to be a shortage of it, in fact as technology advances we humans seem to find more of it and cheaper ways of getting to it.
Domestic oil production in the US is the highest it's been since 2002 for example.
EDIT: I guess also I am talking as a practical matter as far as we here are concerned. At best someone on our site may still be kicking around in 70 years. If, as a society we kick oil before I die I'd be surprised.
EXCELLENT. Maybe this will get me out of the gaming doldrums. Thank you Yodariquo!
EDIT: Back to the doldrums. PSN keeps saying my credit card details are incorrect...
