I love Nintendo hardware, but in looking at it, I've always had the most fun with the third party games on their systems (and this is something I am finally figuring out). Let's examine the evidence:
- Never beaten a 2D mario platformer (except for on handheld).
- Never beaten a Metroid game (other than Metroid 2 on GB).
- Never beaten a Zelda game.
The most time I've sunk into an actual Nintendo franchise has been Animal Crossing.
I am certainly the odd man out. I think the 3DS is best for its non nintendo games, and I am continually suprised that people lineup to buy the same three nintendo games over and over again. Another Zelda game, woooooo. How about you make something fucking new? You played this game 20 years ago. The 3DS has a great library but "milk em lol $$$ Nintendo $$$" is ridiculous.
**Stands Up**
Hello. My name is Phantom_Leo. I am a lifelong Nintendo fan, but I must admit:
I never beat Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Galaxy.
I never beat Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
I've never beaten a Fire Emblem or Pikmin game.
I've never beaten a 3D Zelda, Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass or Minish Cap.
I've never finished a New Super Mario Bros. game, Donkey Kong Country game, Kirby's Epic Yarn or Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Shit, man even I have beaten all three Donkey Kong Country platformers.
How is that even possible if you can't play Super Mario Bros. 1?!
PS: My list of never beaten Nintendo games grows as I remember more series. (FE and Pikmin, for example.)
I WILL finish Awakening though. It's TOO GOOD not to!
We'd need an squad of psychiatrists to figure that one out. I guess that means the original DKCs must be a really shitty platformers if I enjoyed them enought to beat them.
Man I know there are soo many zelda like games out there... wait wait NO THERE ISNT. How about all those Zelda clones, oh yeah there are none. 1 Zelda game every 3 -5 years, so many Zelda games!!!! Meanwhile you play 15 FPSs a year, or the same kind of game, same genre over and over again. Just cause it has a different name doesn't make it new or original.
Sequel hater.
My head just exploded. What did I just read. We need a video game revelation thread. Leo's stuff blew my mind.
Shhh. People think they are masterpieces but you, me and Miyamoto know the truth.
If I ever meet you in real life I will perform experiments on your Mario issues. I find it facinating. I think I can cure you.
We've been through this before...
...oh wait! That was more than 3 days ago though!
You are the RE4 guy arent you!
I PLAYED it...
...I just never beat it!
Same as Okami.
Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2.
ANY Resident Evil other than Revelations.
God Hand.
ANY GTA.
Final Fantasy 7 or Tactics.
I love me some Yoshi's Island, but those 3DS screens look like ass.
Who are you?
Watching Nintendo Direct on 3DS now.
New Luigi U?
Okay, I think my inner child has died, because I see nothing that interests me. As a long time Nintendo fan, this saddens me quite a bit.
So I'm not the only one.
I also never beat Okami, Godhand or the Joes.
I downloaded Super Mario Land 2 off the eShop. I'm eying Metroid 2 for my next download.
