Bugsy why are you not in Germany?
Bauma (like E3, but for heavy machinery) is there!
Oh Iga!
I met a dude the other day, I asked him if he was from the Netherlands. He was blown away that I recognized his accent (all because of you coming on the podcast).
Box art: (still not buying it) :
Probably because he like me does not have a Dutch accent. Dutch usually sound different. I sound like a robot.
Well he was an engineer. Works for a small company called Verbrugen.
An engineer? Well that explains the accent. We all sound like robots!
You two were probably put together on the same assembly line.
Impossible, I am one of a kind.
I'm not there because I don't believe in Paradise. Such a place does not exist.

IGN gave Pandora's Tower (that other Wii Operation Rainfall game) a 7.0 rating. Figured it wouldn't be as good as Xenoblade or Last Story.

Saw a "specialist" today, biggest waste of f****** time I've ever witnessed. Didn't even get to see the doctor, saw the registrar who did nothing the GP didn't already do. Ordered no tests, did no examination. Was basically her writing on a clipboard what I had told my GP and the hospital several times already. She presumed I had post infection IBS and that some people take weeks..... months... years to recover.
Said that now it was about managing my "quality of life" and attempted to prescribe the same SHITTY MEDICATION I have already been using which does JACK SHIT.
Then I spent 2 hours in the Pharmacy waiting, only for them to call me and say the doctor hasn't filled out the form correctly. They said they could not get the doctor on the phone and had me trapse back to the clinic with a form to get filled in and then return. Wasted another half an hour.
Thank you for nothing.
Another dude came down half dead in a wheelchair and hospital robe asking for medication at the pharmacy which was supossed to be there and they were useless and he wheeled away backwards down a corridor swearing like a heathen under his breath at the useless bastards, on his way to the ambulance which was taking him home.
^I hate dealing with medical "professionals".
Just let us buy the drugs and use webmd. Cut out the overly pretentious and pompous middle man.
EDIT: 3 am here, I should probably go to bed since I usually wake up before 6
Ugh....I know the feeling.
In some peoples cases like you said you never completed a *insert franchise* and could never get into it in the first place, totally fine. Kinda like Steel avoiding Zelda and Metroid. Other cases are where you reach saturation point with a particular franchise, again understood - I avoided Fire Emblem DS and Bowsers Inside Story.
That's interesting because I avoided those two games, when and if I pick up the new ones it will be something like 8 years between versions. Last time I played Fire Emblem on a portable was gba |Sacred Stones, last time I played a Mario and Luigi was the DS game, the first one, probably 8 years ago.
Some people don't feel a separation between handheld vs home consoles games in a franchise like Zelda for instance. But to me there is a world of difference between handheld and home console Zelda. Or between 2D Mario and 3D mario. More annoyingly some people don't see a difference between a karting game, golfing game and a platform game. If it's Mario it's a Mario game.
There was a question a GAFFER raised once and asked how can people say they don't like Nintendo games because there are so many different franchises and genres under the umbrella. You may not like Zelda, Mario but what about racing games SRPGs, Rhythm games they do or non-EAD games like Xenoblade or 3rd party games they commision or publish like Endless Ocean, Other M or LEGO City.
It's fine if people groan when Nintendo announce a sequel but when God of War X, Gears of War X, Halo X and Splinter Cell X and Call of Duty X etc get announced there should be a similar reaction IMO.
The problem with Nintendo is that when people say they want new Nintendo games usually they mean that they want Nintendo to make Xbox or Sony style games.
Nintendo has only a few studios capable of making those huge AAA blockbusters, Monolithsoft, EAD Zelda team, EAD Tokyo, Retro and they have their own franchises to make and usually take years to make a game. If for instance they made something else instead of Zelda, it might well be 8 to -9 years between Zeldas and the franchise would become irrelevant. But at least they aren't pumping out yearly Assasins Creed style Zeldas. Once every 4-5 years seems decent of them. They did drop F-Zero and Starfox when sales were low.
The other Nintendo studios are making portable SRPGs, Rhythm games, Mario Karts, Weird minigames, puzzle games, downloadable titles etc.
And then when Nintendo does a new game people don't want it - they don't want Wii Sports or Nintendogs, very people even wanted Pikmin which is a lesser franchise in sales terms.
But have you seen Nintendo's new IP, new characters on the 3DS where they are creating new characters and games? Do people really want Nintendo to make new franchises? Have you guys even seen HarmoKnight, Pushmo or Sakura Samurai?
Is this what you want? Because like Pikmin if Nintendo did a new IP it would be more like Mallo above and less like Halo, Killzone, Beyond etc.
IMO ou're lucky that you got X, Xenoblade, Endless Ocean and The Last Story regardless of what Nintendo's original teams are doing. If Nintendo did Wii U Pushmo, people would still either ignore it or berate it.

...on another note
I've been experiencing a lof of fatigue lately. Icluding a great deal of famer-fatigue. And whenever I feel this way I'm very tempted to become (at least temporarily) a Nintendo only gamer. I feel lucky to have Luigi's Mansion in my hands. And hopefully by the time I'm done with that I will have Fire Emblem with me ... and by the time I'm done with that I will have Animal Crossing ... and I will be happy every after.
Also Leo and GG's descriptions of Lego City are tempting me towards the U. Pikmin 3 would seal the deal.
I started a God of War "project" a few days ago (to play all 5 games I have - ie all minus Ascention) but by the time I finished Chains of Olympus I got sick of these po-faced joyless games. I remember a few years ago when I went through Nintendo fatigue ... and I avoided their games for a time. Now they seem like an oasis.

I want that painting, then I will sit a toilet just below it in my room.
I was quite sad when I finished Luigi's Mansion. I hadn't played 3DS since RE Revelations one year earlier. Think I picked up Pushmo along the way. But then I played Luigi and completed it and felt sad that I had nothing left to play, only to realise Fire Emblem is out tommorrow.
Oh yeah on LEGO city the speed of the cars, even with Nitros is still quite slow and I thought it was all too easy. Then I discovered there are about 18 time trials - I found a supercar and jumped into a time trial with waypoints and very strict time limits, like 9 seconds between checkpoints, fairly challenging and fun.
Then I randomly clambered up to a rooftop Prince of Persia style, used my binoculars to spot someone in the distance using a crowbar to open a door and a chase started. The guy jacked a guy and started driving away and a chase was initiated - I jumped off the building into a police car and chased after him. It wasn't easy, he had a large headstart and it took me several tries to catch up with him even using nitros. So you smash his car up with your vehicle and he jumps out and the chase continues on foot till you can karate then cuff him. Super fun.
And then I turned a corner and you can use colour guns to De Blob style paint the city. Then I went up a building and discovered an RC car control section to unlock a character token. They have packed the city with things to do, it's like a massive playground to have fun in.
The only thing I can criticise is the occasional slowdown and jaggies in the open world and the loading times. Wii U's pad screen has another great use
there is a loading bar on the gamepad screen, so you can flip on the tv for the long loads and when the bar is filled up, flip back. Genius.
Another great use of the U pad screen, have you ever set a device to the wrong HDTV resolution and then since you cannot see the picture, had to hook it up to another tv to change the resolution back? Some Bluray players have dedicated HDMI buttons, some don't and the menus are unviewable once things are messed up. With the U pad settings on the U pad screen you never have this bull****. Small thing but I've had problems in the past with dvd/bluray players screwing me over.
