Xenoblade had a nice run as the most beautiful RPG world, FFXV is INSANE!!!!!

I don't, at this time, think that Beyond Two Souls is the best game I have played in 2 years, but I can say it is, quantifiably, the most under-rated game of the last 2 years.

Very sad....Prey was one of those solid early Xbox 360 games that showed off some of the promise of the console. Sad to see they couldn't bring it back.

lol, just seems weird to me, reading GAF when the trailer first came out. Seems that whenever someone says they're excited about it, it's because it looks like Xenoblade not because it looks like FF. And it's on a more powerful system, so yeah the graphics will be better, pretty obvious.
When was the last time SE made a good FF game? Not- sarcasm, I genuinely don't know as FF13 seems pretty contentious and the MMOs are variable. Monolithsofts last game was Xenoblade which was critically acclaimed. So I think on the whole XCX has a better chance of actually being a great game.
And speaking personally, a giant honking freeway in the middle of this epic landscape is ugly and disjarring to me, not beautiful.

Well the new FF definitely seems like its borrowing ideas from Xenoblade, which is great IMO as Xeno kind of set the standard for JRPG's going forward. So at least Square recognized that instead of staying on the same path. And it does seem to be injecting fresh ideas into FF and it just looks like a much higher level title than we've seen in the series since FF10 in the early PS2 days.
That said, I really liked the PS3 titles in the FF13 subseries. Were they the standard setters that the old FF games were? Hell no....but they are still really solid titles, better than most of the RPG's not called Xenoblade on the consoles. But yes, I'm glad they seem to be changing things up.
Its too bad...Sony still make great stuff. I have a Sony Bravia LED now and its sweet. I have a Sony reciever that is awesome for the money. They need to cut out all the other dumb shit they do and focus on what they do well.
BTW...I think Xenoblade 1 has a more beautiful game world than both Xenoblade 2 AND Final Fantasy 15 so far. Obviously those games smoke it on a technical level, but I just love the art style in that 1st Xenoblade. It has that Phantasy Star type look which I've always loved.
The general internet opinion seems to be that JRPGs were stuck in the doldrums last gen. I can't attest to that as I think Xenoblade and a few DS RPGs were my only JRPGs. What else is there? Tales series, Last Story, Blue Dragon and that other Gooch game?
Me too, I love Sony goods. Virtually everything I own is Sony, TV, Hi-Fi, Bluray, Minidisc players etc. And I think the Bravias have some awesome SD Scaling.
Me too, I was listening to the soundtrack yesterday and it brought back all the memories. Had some really unique places, I love Mechonis field.
You seem to miss the part where we are gaming sites.
Because I want the king to be king. Xenoblade was gorgeous but it never played as well as a FF game to me and it's stuck on ancient hardware. But making FF take the best a aspects of Xenoblade and then adding the best parts of FF with crazy graphics, we all win.

Lost Odyssey was damn good...much better than the reviews it got. It came out around the time when it seemed every reviewer had a vendetta against JRPG's and it got rated as such. It was the best console JRPG other than Xenoblade imo.
