Why the heck are you reading in IGN article?
I got tricked by Leo. He put up a news story from them. Why he reads IGN in the first place is besides me though
"The roadmap for a successful Nintendo console is unclear"
No its not. Its the same as its always been. Give gamers what they want. Been working wonders for Sony for 20 years now.
Without reading the article, I would assume this is more in line with what Nintendo has been doing the past 10 years, post Gamecube. Inferior hardware with gimmicky gamepads.
Seriously with VR on the rise I would highly advise against gimmicky controllers on the NX because if that is the system's big selling point its going to be completely overshadowed.
Although lets face it, Nintendo has been gimping their consoles in some way ever since N64. And everyone knows it.
Practically every article from every mainstream website at one time or another has been met with "Why do you read that site?"
So... No GameSpot, No IGN, No Kotaku, No Detructoid, No Polygon...
...which is the "correct" site to get news?
They have been gimping their consoles since the SNES. Terrible CPU. Their only non-gimped consoles besides the NES was the Gamecube.

Oh man. That Iron Man Xbox One looks awesome. I want one.
Time Magazine. Any site that gives Prune the GOTY award clearly has no agenda.
I think what this announcement has proved is that insiders know jackshit about it. Everyone was saying 2016.
Nintendo actually hasn't said anything more about NX other than saying they were working on it. Everything else has been rumours. They didn't actually promise it in 2016 either. Hype has driven it, most of it self generated by the internet that then turns around and gets miffed when promises that were never made get spurned.
Still sucks though.
At least we know that if the system is capable of doing Zelda U then it has to have a decent amount of grunt to it and it's not some weird stripped down weirdo mobile thing.
I remember that. Nintendo made more profit out of the Gamecube than Sony did out of the PS2.
Nintendo also made quadruple more profit than anyone else in the industry has ever achieved, in one year during the Wii era. They also made 20 years profit within 5 years with Wii/DS.
Kaz knows jack shit and lucked out. Slicing off massive parts of Sony loss making business would of course change things financially. And Sony showed no vision or leadership with PS4 - then got lucky when the other two fell flat on their faces.
You're starting to sound like an angry twitter guy.
Didn't work for the Vita. The problem is that the market for 18-35 year olds is too packed with competition.
One of the site's forefathers.
Angry GG, I agree that Sony has the least sucky console and that is winning them the race right now. But kaz took a toxic company and saved it, it takes balls to restructure the way he did. Nintendo has to do the same, will they, maybe not, they look totally lost.
And you don't book a gigantic E3 hall just for one game. Proof that NX was going to be shown and be released this year, something went horribly wrong.
Nintendo is way ahead of the game. They never even had a cellphone or laptop division. Just goes to show how forward thinking they really are!
They also didn't say they were showing only one game. They said there'd be one playable game. That's a difference. I'm betting my money on the NX using the new 14nm chips and AMD is having a harder time getting decent yields than they expected. Or perhaps they did get caught off guard by the PS4K and decided to act accordingly, changing their order with AMD which resulted in a delay.
Yes, like the PS3 and the Vita!
Actually I would argue that with VR you would need advanced motion controls to make it work properly!
No that is proof that they wanted to show off the NX at E3. When they planned to release it, that is unknown. But I most say that showing off a console at E3 for the first time and releasing it at the same year. That is a tight deadline!
Nintendo seems like it wants to go out in a full revolutionary charge but doesn't have the balls to fully do it yet. So they have one foot in brisk rapid change and the other in tradition, it doesn't work that way. They have to put all their eggs one basket if they want the NX to even have a change at succeeding.
That said the whole skipping NX for E3 thing will be something that time will tell. For example people thought it was stupid back in E3 2005 when Nintendo was shown to put more focus on their handheld than their consoles with major entries of Mario Kart and Animal Crossing on it. It was heavily criticized then but is praised for being ingenious now. If the NX partially succeeds due to Nintendo hitting the ground running with quality titles the March delay could be looked at differently.
One of the site's forefathers.
Bullshit, selling bad part of the company and letting people go if what all companies do. It is nothing special!
They moved the TV division, Sony was TVs. And it's Japan they have weird customs.
Iga I am pretty sure all the major companies have showed off a console for the first time in E3 and released it that year.
Oh and what happened to Nintendo philosophy of only talking and showing games that are close to release. Now E3 is only about a game coming next year. They did not plan this.
Yes, like the PS3 that sold a shitload more than the Wii U or the Gamecube. I don't give a fuck about handhelds.
Ok?
Gamecube was gimped with mini-discs, initial small memory cards, and a controller that while a great shape was lacking in buttons. That's one thing they got right on the Wii U pad...it at least has all the right buttons.
