Thanks! I was up at 5AM today for a little business before my Wii purchase, so the cast was listened to a looong time ago already!
Two questions and an answer or two:
(1) What the heck is Monster Hunter Joker 2...? Yeah. Somebody said it!
(I'd buy it!)
(2) What does Capcom have...? Marvel vs Capcom 3. Megaman Galaxy. Rumored Monster Hunter for PS3 and 360. Dead Rising 2. Their profits may have taken a dip, but I'm not worried about them in the least. They are easily one of the best companies this generation!
Last gen Capcom has establishing entire genres with DMC. They changed the way third person shooters are played with RE4. They made the best Zelda clone ever in Okami. They continued to make badass game while innovating. This gen they are far from that, they are more like followers now. The true talent of Capcom has left.
I'm just as qualified to answer this last question since I lived not far from there for almost a decade. Most of Miami is nothing like what's shown. It's not nearly as nice. Vice City is a good representation of South Beach though, which is chock full of tourists. Though most of them aren't real touristy tourists (if that makes sense). Lots of young people from all over the world (primarily America and Europe) staying hostels that are a few blocks back from the beach, and lots of uber wealthy tourists that can afford to stay right on it. Overall very beautiful people too. If you don't have a complex about your looks when you get there, you might by the time you leave.
And yes, traffic is horrendous all over South Florida.
IV was given a pretty good treatment when they made FFIV Advance. Lots of extra content after completing the game and some extra storyline too. I agree that the DS remake didn't work though. The DS just can't do a good enough 3D game, and a result everything suffered.
As for FFIII, I think that game is just forever doomed. It should have been remade years earlier, and probably in 2-D. Maybe given a more simple treatment like they did with FFII. But the story was just too generic. Not sure it could ever be given a pass in this day and age.
But anyway I'm glad you're enjoying FFV. I agree they did a great job with the game. The new additions to it were very good too. There's an extra couple classes you'll have access to towards the end of the game, and they're fantastic. And it may be too late to give you this piece of advice, but I'll go ahead and give it to you anyway.
In this game, the Blue Mage/Blue Wizard (whatever the job title was), is arguably the best class until the end game. In most of the FF games the Blue/Monster magic was more of a throw-away, but not in FFV. They learn very powerful spells very early on, and those spells stay powerful up until the end game. If you can make sure you have "Learn" as a skill for someone throughout the game. Just getting access to Aero magic alone is more than worth it.
These two guys would whole-hearted-ly disagree!
I was shocked myself.
Thanks for the V feedback. Yeah, it's too late for the blue magic route. Sadly I stupidly missed out on the GBA IV -- I already have it on the SNES and PS and obstinately refused to buy it again (so stupid, as I really only play RPGs on handhelds).
3 Does suck. But I have to finish it one of these days.
I wouldn't change a single thing about my Wii!
...or my two Nintendo consoles either!
I can't say I blame you for that. There is some new content that allows you to bring all the characters who were still on Earth up to the moon so that you can choose who you take into the final battle. And then after the game is done there are individual chapters for each character and a final dungeon. But I will admit all of it was the very definition of "cheap meaningless filler." Which reminds me, I need to get back to FFIV: The After Years and finish that up.
