You have to wonder though given the quality of games writing as you just mentioned whether the original comments actually were taken out of context. I doubt it, but nevertheless.
The continued degradation of writing combined with social media is probably to blame. That and ice cream eyes.
Nintendo now owns the Fatal Frame IP rights
Report
Of all the 3rd party IPs in all the world, why would they choose Fatal Frame?
Because they wanted a 3rd-party IP they feel so strongly about that they decide not to release it worldwide.
Despite what Nintendo and Capcom moreso claim about designing games with a more western feel to somehow fit in better, I think they've just moreso done a better job than most other Japanese devs at simply making the same kinds of high quality games they've always made. That's what its about; Marketable Quality.
The biggest problem IMO with Japans gaming scene is that too many top talent designers left their parent companies to start small developers that don't have the manpower or the funding to continue to create the same level of AAA games they did before in an age when you need more manpower and funding than ever.
Oy, it seems FFVII for Steam has been all but confirmed.
Are you seriously going to argue that Sega of this gen did better than last gen. Seriously. This Sega that doesn't have an original bone in their body. This Sega that is no longer cutting edge, years ahead of the curve. This Sega that has lost all semblance of what they used to be. They suck this gen, its not even close. They have a few great games, they used to pump out great games in their sleep, they were only second to Nintendo in first party greatness and I would argue they were far more versatile than Nintendo ever was.
So Warren Spector is saying all the same things about Epic Mickey 2 that he did about EM1. Lets hope the choices are more realized this time.
Well, it has kind of worked for good ol' Peter Molyneux at least.
Foolz, CunninLinguists are letting people legally download all their work paying any price they see fit (or nothing at all), to protest against the spotify bastards. Here's Kno's statement.
"It was recently revealed that the CEO of Spotify is worth $307 million dollars -- more money than every artist they feature except 1. In honor of the .005 cents per play we get from Spotify as they trick you out of your weed money under the guise of "supporting artists", it's "Fuck Spotify" week at CunninLynguists.com! Take this week off from streaming CL on Spotify and download any album from http://www.cunninlynguists.com/ at whatever price you choose -- even free! - Kno"

GG Comparing a 2012 console to a 2006 one is a troll, unless it is true, in which case god help Nintendo with the core.
For the obvious camera game/ ar application for the U gamepad.

GG, Japanese developers are in trouble not because they are in a rut but because their domestic market has shrunk so they need ti loik to the west for success outside of the handheld market.
Some companies know how to appeal to western sensibilities, most have struggled with it.
Halo 3 is fantastic! Wow this is exactly what I wanted out of a Halo sequel. It has all the variety and great mix of FPS with vehicle combat that the original had and has plenty of giant open battles. Very few games ever make war feel real like this one. Plus nothing repeats, no damn backtracking. This is the best of the three.
When I finish Halo 3 which should be soon I will need something new to play. I want you guys to choose my next game. Here is the list of games I need to play for the 360 alone
Games to beat:
Then I have a ton of PS3 games like Bioshock 2, Resistance 3, loads of PSN games, PS+ free games. I still need to play Yakuza 2 and the rest. I have a few wii games to play like Silent Hill SM, NMH2, Bully, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Endless Ocean.
So choose from that. Lets not make an RPG ok.
Crackdown!
Don't tell Tom McShea that.
On the whole I'd take the games SEGA has published this gen over the ones from even the Dreamcast era. And I'm a Dreamcast fanatic. FANATIC I tell you. None of the current gen games can replace my nostalgia for that era, but when you go back and play them on the Dreamcast, as I do, we've come a long, long way.
And Foolz... arguing that this gen is better than others? Clearly he is baiting you. Foolz hates this gen, he has said it many times.
Like what? Yeah they got platinum that was huge for them as a publisher. Their sonic games are getting better but SA1 and 2 were awesome at the time. Yakuza is a great series being milked to death this gen. VF5 has been messed with for over 6 years now, one fighting game, nice job AM2. Valkarya is from I have heard excellent but so was Skies of Arcadia and I believe Sega made other stradegy RPGs during the DC era I just never played them. They have the Mario kart clone, nice but they used to have major racing franchises not anymore. They were kings of the quirky weird arcade genre, nothing anymore on that front. They had total shit like Golden Axe. Condmened was ok, Headhunter is better. I guess that Total War franchise is good but I dont care for it. Hell just on their sports games alone they were a million times better last gen.
LOL
I dont mean it like that of course. Halo has actual battles. The covenant has their army, tanks, spaceships, vehicles and we have our tanks, spaceships vehicles. They all go at it so you see a true battle play out, not scripted.
Actually I was leaning toward this game. I may stop the question right here.
In terms of playability, this gen, absolutely. And the sports games last gen were all Visual Concepts (if you want to start dividing up publisher/ versus developer
But that was your strongest point. Holy fuck. how good were (are still to this day) their football hockey and basketball games on the DC? (Let's ignore baseball for a moment shall we?).
Nothing can outdo the charm of Samba de Amigo, Jet Grind, Space Channel 5, SA1 and 2, Crazy Taxi the ambition of Shenmue and Seaman and the 10/10 AAA RPG that was Skies of Arcadia. But if you look in terms of PLAYABILITY and sustained fun, this gen edges it out.
Just looking through my collection (which in this regard is paltry) I see:
Vanquish, Binary Domain, Condemned 1&2, Bayonetta, Valkyria Chronicles, Virtua Tennis, Yakuza 3 and 4 (which starting with 4 has taken a new direction), Infinite Space, Sonic Chronicles, The House of the Dead Overkill and Alien Syndrome. (Then you have Sonic Colors and Generations)
Now in looking at that list, it does seem soul less, I must admit compared to my high-school crushes on the Dreamcast, but I've finished most of those games, whereas on the DC those games were mostly a few hours of fun and move on. SEGA has done a great job of cherry picking this gen.
Just go into it trying to think Infamous not GTA, otherwise the first hour can be jarring.
