Anyways, just cleared upto Chapter 4 of Jake's story - taking a bit of a break and deciding if I should power through the final chapter or go do something else. Starting to warm up to it a bit more, especially since there's some truly ridiculous shit in there that's just "WHAT THE FUCK?!" worthy. Makes no sense, but I didn't come to Resident Evil for sense. Though goddamn, fucking impossible to get much in the way of healing items. Game gives you so much ammo, but skimps out on the healing. Not to mention that I have a first aid spray that I can't use for some reason. Can't combine it with anything either, and the in-game menus don't tell you shit. And there's no proper manual, since you have to go online and read it. Though that ain't up either - since the game isn't officially out anywhere except this fine island. Because who the fuck cares about Australia aside from Australians anyway? 
Though I'll say this, there's one particular kind of enemy in that game that can kindly go fuck right off. Probably my least favourite RE enemy to fight since the weird gloopy things that were practically every enemy in Revelations. Don't know how much more I can say without getting into spoilers.

This game sounds way too action focused for a survival adventure game.
Homer for first aid you probably have to select it in the menu, there must be an option in the menu to use item. The spray isnt taken with the R2 button like the herb pills.

They won't go back if people keep buying them. 
Yeah it hasn't been the old school RE for awhile, but RE4 and even RE5 struck a better balance than what I have seen of RE6...they seem to be going more and more away from ANY kind of real Resident Evil gameplay or vibe with every game. Its to the point now where I have to ask is this REALLY Resident Evil anymore? Probably better off just creating a new IP, as all they are doing is using the brand name to sell a completely different product.
That Jake campaign alone...if this was 2003 that would have gotten turned into a new game, or put in a different game (like DMC) because Mikami would have said hey, this isn't what RE is about. Back to the drawing board.

But yeah I would love a totally classic RE game, like REmake. With downloadable titles they can make a cell shaded one if they dont want to spend for a big budget, something simple put it on PSN XBL for like $25. That would be awesome.
Mikami changed it, but it still felt like RE. I don't think he would ever change it to the point it is now...but imo he's a much better designer than anyone at Capcom now.

Neat experiment at GS, I changed the RE6 thread title to "GS gives it a 4.5???" a while back, the thread exploded with posts. Now I switch it to "GT gives it an 8.8" and I have crickets.
It's finally official then: Gaming creates more drama queens than homosexuality... I've seen scant evidence here and there, but this proves it!
